Homeopathy in India

The word ‘Homoeopathy’ is derived from two Greek words, Homois meaning similar and pathos meaning suffering. Homoeopathy is based on the natural law of healing- "Similia Similibus Curantur" which means "likes are cured by likes".
A scientific basis was given by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the German Physician about 200 years ago. Today it has evolved as a time tested therapy.

Homoeopathy today is a rapidly growing system and is being practiced almost throughout the world. In India it has gained lots of popularity due to the safety of its pills and gentleness of its cure. Most houses in India nowadays depend on Homoeopathy

Homoeopathy is being practiced in since a long time in India. It has been well recognized as one of the National Systems of Medicine and it plays a significant role in providing health care to majority of people in India. Homoeopathy takes a holistic approach towards the sick individual through promotion of inner balance at mental, emotional, spiritual and physical levels.

The treatment is on the basis of Symptoms. It is a safe, gentle and effective way of cure.

Government took several steps and in 1948, a Homoeopathic Enquiry Committee was set up to evolve a suitable arrangement to regulate teaching and practice of Homoeopathy. A Homoeopathic Advisory Committee was appointed in 1952 by the Govt. of India and the recommendations of these committees led to passing of a Central Act in 1973 for recognition of this system of medicine. Homoeopathy now has been accepted as one of the National Systems of Medicine in India.
